Regulatory & Sustainability Compliance

Trade in agarwood (Aquilaria spp.) is regulated internationally under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and, in the Philippines, by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Dendrotonics is committed to operating in compliance with applicable CITES requirements and Philippine forestry and environmental regulations. Documentation relating to permits and certifications is available on request.

Participants in plantation, lease, or revenue-share arrangements are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any permits, clearances, registrations, or local government approvals applicable to their own land, operations, or subsequent sale of harvested material, except where a separate written agreement with Dendrotonics expressly provides otherwise.

Agarwood cultivation is an agricultural and biological undertaking subject to risks outside the control of Dendrotonics, including but not limited to: weather, typhoons, drought, flooding, and climate variability; soil conditions and site suitability; pests, pathogens, and disease; fire, theft, trespass, and vandalism; variation in individual tree response to inoculation; plantation management practices and standard of care applied by the landowner or operator; changes in law, regulation, permitting, or CITES listing; and changes in market demand, buyer requirements, and pricing.

Trees may fail to establish, fail to produce resin, produce resin of lower grade or quantity than anticipated, or take longer to reach harvestable quality than estimated. Participation carries the risk of partial or total loss of the capital, land use, labour, and time committed. You should not participate with funds you cannot afford to lose.
